Termination of criminal case and criminal prosecution with the imposition of a fine (paragraphs “a, b”, part 2, article 193.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)

The preliminary investigation authorities accused three Clients of committing a crime under paragraphs. “a, b” part 2 of article 193.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (transferring foreign or Russian currency to non-resident’s bank accounts in a particularly large amount by group of persons on the basis of prior agreement).

Result:

Due to compensation for damage caused, the defense requested during pre-trial stage to terminate the criminal prosecution against the Clients and to impose a fine.

The defense’s arguments were taken into account by the investigator, the defense request was granted.

The investigation forwarded the criminal case to the court without prepared indictment, with a corresponding petition to terminate the criminal case and criminal prosecution and impose a court fine.

Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow granted the request of the investigator, terminated the criminal case.
